Well, here it goes...off into the wild blog yonder. At this point in time, I want to take a chance to introduce myself to my audience. I am the Administrative Intern and At-Risk (Title I) Coordinator at an elementary school in California. I love baseball, mom, and apple pie (though not necessarily in that order). On a daily basis, I find myself in enemy territory. The only comfort that I have is in knowing that most of these people are simpletons, that when scratched on the surface, reveal themselves as shallow, neophytic thinkers who engage in reactionary politics. Therefore, I rarely feel the need to find cause for personal alarm. Yet, it troubles me much when I think about the fact that these people are influencing the lives of the children that they come in contact with on a daily basis. Much of my rantings on this blog will be aimed directly at some of the...for lack of a better word...CRAP...that I have to wade through on a daily basis...seen both from those whom I work with and many of those in the culture that I work around. I, however, am not a pessimist (I know, hard to believe at this point). But, I am not an optimist either. I am a realist. At times, I do see glimpses (sometimes very minute) that give me hope for the future. I will try to point out the good things that I see...not only to give hope, but to keep myself and possible you from going crazy!
